We dedicated the passover vacation for product characterization and technological progress.
With 4 different potential users, we assembled our first demo and conducted tech-involved user testings for SeeMe.
User Testing
We managed to conduct first tech demo based user testings for 4 children of the relevant ages.
We tested three main scenarios:
Reporting via SeeMe app: how often the users report? about what? when? We installed our app on the users phones and let them play with it for 2-3 days and then checked the results. We learned that the users not necessarily reports about events happen online.
Expectations vs reality: is the updated tree express the users expectations? what are the meanings of the results for them?
The tree output quality: is the output on the tree clear enough? is it creates the expected atmosphere?
We learned a lot and processed the results for considerations for our next sessions of user testings and development.
Technological Progress
We made a big progress on the technological side, able to create a first demo for the user testings, to make them more interactive and close to the real thing.
We laser-printed a designed 2D tree on a wooden surface, and assemble the LEDs and other hardware to it. The result became our prototype for the user testing mentioned above.
Main tech progress mage those two weeks:
Transform the MQTT broker into a WEB server implemented with Flask (Python).
Dynamically response to changing number of LEDs on the LED strip using unique query.
Improved fading responsiveness.
Improved app design and transfer MQTT requests into HTTP requests.
Created two demo kits: development and testing.
